Nigerian youngster Maduka Orji has joined Maltese team Hamrun Spartans.
The 18-year-old striker told AfricanFootball.com he is excited about the deal and looking forward to prove himself overseas.
“I have signed with Hamrun Spartans in Malta. I will start with the U19 team and my performance there will determine when I will join the main team fully, I know soonest I will be with the main team,” the Okagbue Academy of Onitsha player disclosed.
“I am so happy and grateful to God for this opportunity. I want to work hard here to achieve my goals of moving forward in my career.”
The Anambra State Federation Cup winner in 2014 with Okagbue Academy impressed during a three-week trial when he scored five goals in three games.
“I was on trial for three weeks and scored five goals in three friendly games that I played,” said the young striker, whose role model is the controversial Mario Baloteli.
