The Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Asdulmumins Kabir has accused militant group, Niger Delta Avengers of trying to destroy the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari despite the fact that Buhari’s election was accepted by all Nigerians.
The Emir made the accusations on Thursday, June 2, at the opening of first the first security for support group of various religions organisation organised by Katsina state government and supreme council for sharia in Nigeria, Nigeria Pilot reports.
He said the activities of Niger Delta Avengers are targeted to destroy the entire north and called on the federal government to take decisive measures against the group for the overall interest of the nation.
Emir of Kabir also condemned the activities of Boko Haram describing them as anti-Islam and called youth to distance themselves from joining the group. He blamed the emergence of different group causing problems in Nigeria society on some Islamic scholars who he faulted for creating division within Muslims in the country.
Meanwhile, Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state says it is shameful and embarrassing that President Muhammadu Buhari who is retired military general could succumb and chicken-out to threats from militants and cancel his scheduled trip to attend the flag-off of the clean-up Ogoni project.
According to Punch, Fayose said the president’s failure to attend the flag-off of the clean-up Ogoni project on Thursday, June 2, because of the threat from Niger Delta militants was a demonstration that the president had surrendered to the superior powers of the militants.
