The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Kogi state, Abubakar Audu, is reportedly dead.
According to Sahara Reporters, Audu passed away of undisclosed medical reason just after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had announced the results of the voting and had declared the election inconclusive.
The information is yet to be officially confirmed and more details are to be provided.
Naij.com correspondents are on their way to Audu’s house in Lokoja to confirm the authenticity of the report. He was previously said to have left his country home in Ofu LG for Lokoja, the state capital. The phones of all his aides are switched off.
It should be noted that according to the results as counted by the INEC in the evening of November 22, the APC polled 240,867, while the PDP received 199,514.
However, the election was declared inconclusive as the leading margin was below the number of registered voters in cancelled polling units.
